Push-up with hands together
How to Perform Diamond Push-ups
- 1Start in a high plank position with hands on the floor, directly under your shoulders, body in a straight line from head to heels, core engaged, and feet together.
- 2Rotate your hands inward so thumbs and index fingers touch, forming a diamond shape with your hands directly under your chest.
- 3Spread your fingers slightly for stability, elbows pointing back at about 45 degrees from your torso.
- 4Inhale as you slowly lower your body by bending your elbows, keeping them tucked close to your sides until your chest nearly touches your thumbs.
- 5Exhale as you press through your palms to extend your arms and return to the starting plank position.
- 6Pause briefly at the top, maintaining a straight body line.
- 7**Key form tips:** Keep your body rigid like a plank—avoid sagging hips or piking up. Squeeze your glutes and brace your core. If too challenging, drop to knees. Common mistakes: Flaring elbows out, letting hips drop, or rushing the descent.
