Cross cables from high to low position
How to Perform Cable Crossover
- 1Set the cable pulleys to the highest position on the cable machine and attach D-handles to each side.
- 2Select a moderate weight on both sides and stand in the center, facing away from the machine.
- 3Grab the left handle with your right hand and the right handle with your left hand, crossing them in front of your body at shoulder height.
- 4Step forward slightly with one foot for stability, knees soft, core braced, and shoulders back.
- 5Inhale, then exhale as you pull the handles down and across your body in a smooth arc, squeezing your chest at the center (hands nearly touching).
- 6Pause briefly at peak contraction, then inhale as you slowly return the handles to the starting position along the same arc.
- 7Repeat for desired reps, then switch handle crossing for balanced development.
- 8Key form tips: Keep a slight bend in elbows throughout; avoid locking out or using momentum—focus on chest squeeze. Common mistakes: shrugging shoulders or flaring elbows wide.
