Double Kettlebell Press

KBStrength

No video available

The Double Kettlebell Press is a bilateral overhead press performed with a kettlebell in each hand from the rack position. It builds shoulder strength, pressing endurance, and core stability under front-loaded kettlebells. Ideal for strength and conditioning athletes, it requires a matched pair of kettlebells.

How to Perform Double Kettlebell Press

  1. 1Clean two kettlebells to the rack position: elbows tucked, bells resting on the forearms near the chest, wrists neutral.
  2. 2Stand tall with feet about shoulder-width, glutes and core braced, ribs down.
  3. 3Inhale, then exhale as you press both kettlebells overhead until arms are locked out, biceps near the ears.
  4. 4Keep shoulders packed—avoid shrugging or excessive lumbar arch.
  5. 5Inhale as you lower the bells under control back to the rack.
  6. 6Repeat for the desired reps.
  7. 7Key form tips: Press straight up, not forward; keep the rack tight between reps; match the tempo on both arms. Common mistakes: flaring elbows, leaning back, or bouncing out of the rack.
